Beyond treating illnesses and injuries, Grand Prairie Urgent Care & Primary Care offers a suite of essential medical procedures and diagnostic tests. Our facility is equipped with the technology and clinical expertise to provide immediate results for a variety of health screenings and minor surgical needs.
We provide a cost-effective, time-saving alternative to hospital laboratories and emergency rooms, with most services available on a walk-in basis.
Diagnostic Screenings & Lab Work
Our on-site diagnostic capabilities allow for rapid answers and informed treatment plans.
Lab Tests
We offer a full range of on-site clinical lab testing. From basic metabolic panels and blood counts to specific diagnostic screenings, our lab services help identify underlying health issues quickly. Most results are available during your visit or within a short turnaround time.
EKG (Electrocardiogram)
An EKG is a non-invasive test that records the electrical activity of your heart. It is a vital tool for diagnosing chest pain, palpitations, or shortness of breath. We provide professional EKG screenings to monitor heart health and ensure there are no underlying cardiac irregularities.
PPD / TB Skin Test
The Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) test is used to determine if you have been exposed to tuberculosis (TB). This is a common requirement for healthcare workers, teachers, and students. Note: This test requires a follow-up visit 48–72 hours after the initial placement for the results to be read by our clinical staff.
Pregnancy Testing
We provide professional-grade, confidential urine pregnancy tests. Our clinical environment ensures privacy and allows you to discuss the results and next steps with a qualified healthcare provider immediately.
Minor Surgical & Orthopedic Procedures
When you need immediate physical intervention, our providers are trained to perform minor procedures in-office.
Stitches (Laceration Repair)
For deep cuts that cannot be closed with simple bandages, we provide professional suturing (stitches). Our goal is to ensure proper wound closure to prevent infection and minimize scarring. We also offer suture removal services once your wound has healed.
Splints & Stabilization
If you have sustained a sprain or a minor fracture, proper stabilization is key to recovery. We apply custom splints to immobilize the affected limb, reducing pain and preventing further injury. Unlike a full cast, a splint allows for swelling and is often the first step in orthopedic healing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How long does a TB skin test take?
The initial injection takes only a few minutes. However, you must return to our clinic 2 to 3 days later to have a clinician “read” the skin reaction. If you do not return within 72 hours, the test must be repeated.
Can I walk in for an EKG?
Yes. If you are experiencing non-emergency chest discomfort or require an EKG for a surgical clearance, you can walk in during our normal business hours.
What is the difference between stitches and medical adhesive?
Stitches are typically used for deeper wounds or areas of the body that move a lot (like joints). Medical adhesive (“skin glue”) is often used for smaller, shallower cuts in low-tension areas. Our providers will determine the best method for your specific injury.
